The way people find businesses is changing faster than at any point since Google arrived. More and more customers no longer scroll a page of links — they ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity or Google's AI for a recommendation and act on the answer. Overheard exists to make sure that when they ask, your business is the answer.
For twenty years, being found meant ranking on Google. Whole industries grew up around it. But AI assistants have quietly changed the rules: instead of ten blue links, your customer gets a single, confident recommendation — and if your name isn't in it, you're invisible, no matter how good your reviews are.
The frustrating part is that most owners have no idea where they stand. You can Google yourself, but you can't easily see what ChatGPT tells the thousands of people asking it for "the best [what you do] near me" every week. That blind spot is exactly what we built Overheard to remove.
We turn something invisible into a simple monthly scorecard — so you can see your AI visibility, watch it move, and actually do something about it.
I'm Dwaine, the founder of Overheard. I started this after watching how quickly friends and family stopped Googling and started simply asking an AI what to buy, book and trust — and realising that most local businesses had no way of knowing whether they were being recommended or quietly left out.
Overheard is built to give the smaller business the same visibility the big brands are already paying agencies to chase. It's independent, transparent, and priced so any owner can afford to keep an eye on it. If there's anything you'd like to see it do, I'd genuinely love to hear from you — you can reach me directly at hello@overheardai.co.uk.
